Benefits of Honey

honey

I’m sure we all have experienced our share of DIY disasters. But let me introduce you to a fool-proof hack to
perfect skincare DIY. It doesn’t matter of you have oily, dry or even the most difficult of them all, “the
combination skin” type. It also doesn’t matter if you’re planning to shrink your pores or to bring freshness to
your skin. There`s just one answer to all skin related (and even others but we can talk about it later) problems;
that is honey!
Honey can be mixed with simple items from your kitchen for everyday use. The golden syrup has proven to give remarkable results. Its not only pocket friendly but, it also encourages a healthy lifestyle of coming back to organic natural products for daily needs. The hype about “Honey” might have started recently but honey has been a household staple for more than 4000 years ago.  It is not only beneficial for exterior use but also for oral intake. Honey acts as rich source of antioxidants that is an important item for daily consumption.
Today, honey is used in majority of products and yes, they do wonders for your skin, but they are heavy on the
pocket. And if you are anything like me then you would love to save some bucks and get the maximum benefit
too. So, without further ado, let us begin with few of the amazing wonderful things you can do with honey.
Moisturize! Winters are upon us and one thing that can ruin that perfect summer glow is dryness. Winters bring
so much dryness that we end up looking flaky and dull all day long. Just applying honey for 25-30 mins daily will
plump up your skin.
If you have oily or even combination skin, do not skim through this portion. I repeat, DO NOT SKIM THROUGH
THIS PORTION! The enzymes present in honey go deep into the layers of the skin. So, my friends, with the fear of
clogged pores and shiny t-zones, don’t worry. This magical liquid will go deep into your skin and give you as much
conditioning and monitoring as you need. And, the best part, it does not have any side effects. So, you can keep
using it for as long as and as frequently as you wish to.
Exfoliate and Pore Cleaner. For using it as a pore cleaner, mix honey with some of your favorite oils. It can be
coconut oil or jojoba oil or any other oil that you love to use. Just add few drops of oil in a teaspoon of honey and
apply it to your clean face. Massage it in circular motion to and rinse with cold water.
For exfoliate, mix it with baking soda. We, people with sensitive skin, are resistant to use baking soda. Yes, baking
soda can exfoliate like no other fancy exfoliator but, more often than not, it leaves you with itchiness or
sometimes even with mild rashes. Honey calms down this attribute of baking soda, making it easy to use for
everyone.
Sunburns and Scars. For sunburns, Alovera is very famous. But the gel in Alovera gets dry quickly. Also, it doesn’t
stay on like a mask. Its like a tick cream that eventually dries off and disappear in thin air.  Mixed with honey,
Alovera can be used to treat sunburns.
The exfoliation mixture of your favorite oil and honey mixture can also be used for mild scars. Just remember to
rub it in circular motion and place a warm washcloth over your skin when you`re done. When the cloth turns cold
take it off.
Wrinkles Disappears. Honey can be used with curd to reduce wrinkles from the face. Just keep this mixture on
for 15-20 mins and wash it off with Luke warm water.
Hydrate and Brighten the skin. Honey helps you to bring your inner glow. There are countless DIYs on how to
use honey for the famous “sun kissed glow!”. Honey can be used directly or with curd/milk to give that natural
soft yet glam glow to the skin.

There are many more ways through which you can incorporate honey into your life and get amazed. But the trick
is to be consistent. From my personal opinion, honey can fix your skin even in 2 3 days. but like all other natural
fixes, wait for 2 months and make a routine. Let your skin get used to with it and then decide if it is your cup of tea
or not.
