let’s say No to societal pressure and judgments:
Well we often hear the word changed thinking/mentality but does it apply to everyone out there? Do we still have to be judged or to live our life according to old traditions? Do Men still have to dictate us what to wear or with who to talk?
Questions like these are still raised and no matter how much a woman is qualified the typical questioned still asked by rhista aunties is “Beta, khana buna leti hun?”
Like seriously, a man want a woman or a robot who is capable of managing everything and still when day ends a woman should have a bright smile on her face no matter how much tired and exhausted she is.
On the other hand, we live in a society where a woman is still judged by appearance and outlook. We have to look flawless no matter what and media is further playing its part. Apart from appearance we still have to look perfectly right, we can’t look messed up and it is our role to keep everything on track as in the end women always gets the blame if something goes wrong.
If a man cheat, it is his wife fault and yes the easiest way out and answer for second marriage is “I want kids, my wife is not capable of becoming a mother”. A man can be in relationship before marriage but they will marry the one who should not have any past.
Dress code is still important and women are still judged if they wear jeans or shirts and we often hear aunties and men saying “kisi shareef ghar ki nahi lagti hai” or men get distracted because Duh, woman faults, “cover up”.
So girls are you ok with all this?
No matter how much qualified we become or from what background we belong, we still have to end up making perfectly “Gol Rotis” and yes a society where a Father/Husband/Son/Brother/Aunties decides what degree you should get or what to wear and with who to talk or not.
So, Hey listen, This will continue if we don’t raise our voice or say “No” to what you don’t want to do or who you don’t want to become! No one has a right to tell you how perfect you are.
Say, No!
